After you complete the signup process go to You will be prompted by our 3-Step installation wizard. Click on ‘connect now’ to proceed to step 1.

*Note: The installation wizard will automatically proceed to step 1 in 15 seconds.

Step 1 - Connect To Podio

If you are already signed in to Podio before the installation, you will automatically proceed to step 2. Otherwise, you will be brought to Podio’s login page automatically. Just sign in using the Podio account you would want to use.

Step 2 - Portal Setup

a. Choose the organization and workspace

b. Choose an existing app or create a new one.

Note: The Portal installs on a Podio app, that contains an email field, or a text field with email addresses. 

The app can be a contact app type, or regular app type. One item in this app, is a log in item, also called the main item. 

Your users can then log in to this item through the Portal, and you can show related items to main item, and related items to related items. You can also use calculations across apps, add webforms and app views to apps not connected to the main app.

Then, provide a name for your portal.

c. Setup your billing info and click on Install. 

Step 3 - Success Message

Installation may take a few seconds. You will be brought to our confirmation page after your portal has been successfully installed. 

Just remember that you have to install the portal to a contact app or a regular app that contains an email field. One item you create is equivalent to one user. The email address on the item will serve as their login info. After installation, you will be directed to login page. Simply provide the email address you included on your item and you will receive an email with instructions on how to set your password.

And that’s it! Congratulations, you have created your very first portal!

NOTE: To make things less overwhelming, we have set up a tour to introduce you to all of your portal’s features. You have an option to skip the tour anytime. We hope you’ll have a great time using our portal.

If you receive errors, try to delete the portal by going to the settings > global settings > portal application section > click on the red warning signs > click on the trash icon and start over.
